Bennett & Williams Law Firm
Bennett & Williams is different from other law firms you may have encountered in your search for the best lawyer or attorney to represent you in your Arkansas Criminal or DWI / DUI case. The vast majority of the cases handled by our firm, in general, are in the area of criminal and drunk driving law. As for the partners, Mr. Bennett and Mr. Williams, they handle criminal defense cases, including felonies and misdemeanors, almost exclusively.

Our firm is only one of a handful of firms in the entire State of Arkansas that specializes in DWI and DUI Defense. The attorneys at Bennett & Williams are committed to defending individuals accused by the Government of committing a crime. If you don't stand up for your Constitutional rights, nobody else will; especially the Government. A criminal conviction can be devastating to you financially, socially, and emotionally.

However, as we say, a crime is not a conviction! Fight your case, and it may not ever become a conviction either. An Arkansas DWI or DUI case is very different from any other type of alleged crime.
Services
Individuals convicted of a crime in Arkansas, whether through their own decision to plead guilty or through the determination of a judge or jury, are subject to, among other penalties, fines, imprisonment, probation, and community service.
Defending your criminal case in the strongest possible way is critical to your freedom and your future.
The outcome of any criminal case depends upon the facts surrounding the crime charged, the strength of the evidence, the legal validity of law enforcement and courtroom procedure, and the goals and strategy of the government and defense.
There is an ever-persisting myth among the public and even those in the legal community that you have little chance of winning a DWI.
If you are wondering if it is possible to win a DWI*, consider the following actual cases handled by the attorneys at the Law Offices of Bennett & Williams:.
If you would like to know more about these cases, we can discuss the many positive results that we have achieved for our clients, which have resulted in them being able to avoid a criminal conviction.
DWI 1 (Drugs), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Dismissed), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Dismissed) with SFSTs and Refusal.
To even be eligible to "sit for" board certification, an applicant must first demonstrate prior DWI/DUI defense trial experience to include at least fifty-five contested DWI/DUI cases within the three years prior to examination and submit several judicial and attorney recommendations.
Applicants must also draft and argue an appellate brief before a panel of Regents from the National College for DUI Defense.
In 2017, Brad J. Williams became the first and only Board Certified DUI Defense Attorney in the State of Arkansas and one of only 51 at the time in the entire United States.
In an ideal world, a discussion of field sobriety tests would be irrelevant because everyone would refuse to do them when being investigated for a DWI.
THEY ARE TOTALLY VOLUNTARY!
However, the vast majority of potential clients that come to talk to us have done the tests.
This is because cops will never tell you that they are voluntary tests.
In fact, they will tell you to do them in a way that would make everyone think that they ARE required.
So what are field sobriety tests?
These are tests (or, more accurately, physical agility exercises) that a suspect performs so that a cop can build his probable cause to arrest you for DWI.
Upon completion it will instantly compute your estimated blood/breath alcohol concentration ("BAC") based on the information that you have provided and return that estimate to you.
It is presented as a public service by Intoximeters to Intoximeters web site visitors.
Its primary purpose is to provide useful information about the responsible use of alcohol.
It is called the "Drink Wheel" because it is based on various paper and cardboard BAC calculators that are given out in alcohol awareness programs, some of which are in the form of a wheel that you can spin around to calculate your estimated BAC based on what and how much you have had to drink.
