In 1888, L.L. Chamberlain was admitted to practice law in California and hung his shingle in the Gold Rush town of Auburn, California.
Since 1888, the firm has been open for business, and now ranks as the third oldest law firm in California.
In 1948, a young attorney new to Placer County, F. L. Sinclair, graduated from Boalt Hall at the University of California, Berkeley, and accepted an associate position in the Chamberlain firm as his first employment.
Several years later, Mr. Sinclair departed the Chamberlain firm, relocated to Roseville, California, and founded what has become the oldest continuously practicing law firm in Roseville.
