We understand how it feels when you need to put a lawyer on your side. Since 2001 we've been helping people with their business, civil, commercial, and employment matters. Our founder, business litigation attorney, Robert Lopez, was the recipient of three full-tuition academic scholarships while at USC Law School in 1996-1999. Without these scholarships, attorney Robert Lopez might never have been able to attend USC Law School.

As part of its obligation to be a source of good in the community, attorney Robert Lopez through Source Law Firm would like to assist others on their academic journey. Therefore, Source Law Firm offers two $250 scholarships to college and university undergraduates every school year. One winner will be selected for the Fall and one for the Spring of each year.

I, Robert Lopez, believe our country, the United States, is the best nation on this earth. We are only one of a handful of countries that allow our people true personal and economic freedom. Our economic freedom gives all of us the real ability to improve our social and economic status.

Have you ever promised your child a reward if they would do something good?
Something like, "If you are good, then I will buy you an ice cream!" or "If you get good grades, then I will take you to Disneyland!".
Appellate Court of Illinois, Fourth District.

Ct. 1985 Hamilton Bancshares, Inc. v. Leroy OPINION OF THE COURT JUSTICE McCULLOUGH delivered the opinion of the court: Plaintiff brought this action for specific performance of two stock purchase options.
Have you ever promised your child a reward if they would do something good?
Something like, "If you are good, then I will buy you an ice cream!" or "If you get good grades, then I will take you to Disneyland!".
Or maybe you did it in the negative, "If you're not good, then no dessert".
Most parents have said something along these lines.
I know I have.
But how many parents would think that making a promise for good behavior was an enforceable contract?
And if you did not keep up your end of the bargain, the child has a legal right to sue you?
Plaintiff brought this action for specific performance of two stock purchase options.
Under each agreement the option period was 80 days.
Within the option periods and prior to their exercise by plaintiff, defendants gave notice of withdrawal of the options.
Thereafter, plaintiff sought to exercise the options, and subsequently commenced this action.
Defendants maintained they had the right to withdraw the option offers before exercise, and plaintiff maintained they had no such right.
The trial court granted defendants' motion for summary judgment, concluding that the consideration was insufficient to support the options, and thereafter denied plaintiff's post-trial motion.
