Sproul Trost handles matters relating to real estate development, land use planning and the unique legal issues and problems facing common interest developments and master planned communities.
We have served as legal counsel to many of the Nation's largest real estate development companies, including those who specialize in active adult communities, destination resort developments, and golf course communities.
Currently the firm represents real estate development companies and a number of owner associations operating in established master planned communities.
Our attorneys offer a broad range of knowledge and experience that enables us to advise, negotiate and bring to trial a wide variety of corporate, commercial and residential real estate issues.

Sproul Trost assists a wide-range of clients concerning permitting, siting, compliance and mitigation of environmental and land-use disputes on the local, state and federal levels.
The practice includes the representation of large power producers in the permitting and siting of natural-gas fired, wind, solar and biomass power plants, as well as the defense of large landfill operations before state and local administrative agencies, trial and appellate courts.
The firm's extensive experience has included interpretation and compliance with air and land-use requirements (including BACT standards, criteria and non-criteria pollutant compliance, zoning, ordinance and general plan compliance and mitigation, environmental justice analysis) as well as compliance and mitigation requirements for CEQA, Clean Water Act, Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, Integrated Waste Management Act, and California and Federal Endangered Species Act.
