Jan Kaufman was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and has lived in San Diego for over 25 years. Her father was an attorney in Portland, so it was natural for her to pursue the legal field. She attended Oregon State University as an undergraduate and defected to University of Oregon for law school. She is admitted to practice law in Oregon and California.
Since 1989, Jan has provided legal services to Oakley, Inc. Over the years, she handled litigation, managed the Oakley trademark portfolio and handled the majority of Oakley's business transactional work. She drafted and reviewed contracts for all aspects of Oakley's business. She worked closely with the Oakley sports marketing department reviewing countless athlete contracts and negotiating terms with athletes' agents.
Her personal passion for engaging in action sports and her general interest in the traditional sports made her work with the Oakley extremely rewarding. Jan is now expanding her practice to small businesses, start ups and sports agents.
