Attorney James Sidney Jones is a graduate of Duke University, the University of Akron School of Law (JD), and Georgetown Law (Masters of Law in Securities Regulation). He has successfully represented clients in dozens of Ohio, Federal, and Appellate courts, as well as plaintiffs and defendants in securities fraud and wrongful termination arbitrations.
Attorney Jones has been admitted to practice in Ohio since 1994. Throughout my life as a lawyer, teacher, stock broker, and small business owner, as well as an employee, I have become more and more convinced that our systems are rigged in favor of rich and powerful white people.
Whether it is a BS traffic stop (a recent article revealed that Baltimore suburban cops are so bored that they routinely run plates on old cars all during their shift and then look for a reason to stop them) that captures people of color in the criminal justice system (also see Stanford University's nationwide Open Policing study on traffic stops), or unequal treatment of students of color in schools, or dishonest financial managers, or unethical employers or co-workers, it is becoming increasingly difficult for non-rich people to maintain any fairness of treatment or opportunity.

Services
Although a lawyer-client relationship can be established without the payment of a fee, I prefer to eliminate any ambiguity and consider this initial consultation to be a paid engagement for legal advice, which I will provide during our call.
I will never charge you and then not attempt to help you.
I will always provide you a fair assessment of what I can do, if anything, for your situation.
My hourly rate is $200 after an initial phone consultation, if any.
I bill in 15 minute increments.
I do not charge for missed phone attempts or casual conversations with other lawyers which were not strategic attempts on my part to advance your case.
