At Daggett Shuler Law, we help the injured and disabled. Some may need to recover medical bills, lost wages, or damages after an accident. Safe Sober Prom Night, which promotes safety and awareness among teenagers in North Carolina.
The team at Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and the overall wellness of the Triad community particularly when it comes to warning teens about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
When people choose to use drugs or alcohol, the health of our entire community suffers.
Over 30 years ago, when David Daggett was a young attorney, he saw the aftermath of the poor decisions that young people made around drugs and alcohol and created Safe Sober Prom Night.
The initiative, which reached over 600,000 teens over 30 years, grew so big, that it evolved into a larger initiative, now known simply as Safe Sober, to continue and expand its impact on the youth of the Triad in North Carolina.
No matter how many precautions you take, or how safely you drive, accidents can still happen.
Unfortunately, despite doing your best to reduce risks, sometimes accidents cannot be avoided.
In fact, motor vehicle accidents are a leading cause of injuries.
In North Carolina in 2017, more than 1,300 people died in auto accidents, and nearly 128,000 were injured.
Many auto vehicle accidents are preventable.
Whether due to the negligence of distracted driving, the recklessness of speeding, or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the end result often remains the same: lives are greatly impacted, sometimes forever.
Riding the bus, while a reliable and convenient method of transportation, carries the same risk as with any other motor vehicle.
In fact, a recent study showed that on average more than 15,000 people suffer injuries from bus-related accidents in the U.S. annually.
And in 2017, there were 519 crashes in North Carolina involving commercial buses, and 155 involving other buses.
When you have been involved in a bus accident, it can make you feel as though you must act right now.
And while it is important not to put off speaking with a qualified personal injury attorney, it is equally important that you remember not to take certain actions without first consulting with one.
