JAMES J. GORNEY, a former insurance adjuster, is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. He has been practicing law for nearly 30 years. His practice is primarily civil litigation with an emphasis in real estate, personal injury, commercial litigation, title insurance litigation, wills and estates. Mr. Gorney is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and a past President of the Charles County Bar Association.
He is also currently serving as the President of the Kiwanis Club of LaPlata and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland-Peer Review Committee and the Charles County Judicial Nominating Committee. Mr. Gorney has been appointed as a Settlement Conference Facilitator with the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland.
He has served as a speaker with the Maryland Land Title Association. Mr. Gorney is also licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
