I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas the son of a well known local attorney/rancher and school teacher. I became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Fredericksburg High School. I attended and graduated from Rice University in Houston playing Varsity football and majoring and making the honor roll in business. I attended and graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, a law school known for providing an excellent and practical legal education.
I also made the honor roll there. I passed the Bar exam and was admitted as a licensed Attorney to the State Bar of Texas in 1978. After practicing Law in Houston/Harris County and gaining considerable experience I married Pat Holsey and I returned to my home town in 1983 to live and raise a family and practice Law with my father, Richard "Dick" Hoerster a well known Attorney who had been practicing in Frederickeburg since 1953.
I continue to be associated with my Dad who still actively practices law. My mother is Maxie Hoerster.
