My name is Soojin and I am a probate and estate planning attorney serving the Greater Sacramento area. Having a young child myself, I am passionate about helping parents think through their legacy, especially with regard to minor children. It is my goal to make the estate planning process a pleasant experience for you and your family. If you are looking for guidance after losing a loved one, I can assist you through probate or trust administration as well.

No two families are alike and I would be honored to help you figure out what your estate planning or probate needs are. Call soojin kim, trust & probate attorney, at 916-847-5440 for more information on estate planning services. Estate Planning, living trust and will probate services are critical when least expected. Our process allows you to pause for a moment and reflect on your lives and your loved ones.

When drafted correctly by your estate planning lawyer, your loved ones will be provided and cared for in your absence and your last wishes will also be respected.
Services
Over the years as a probate and estate planning lawyer, I have seen a myriad of families, ranging from the families with proper estate planning in place to families who did not think estate planning was for them.
With the different families, what I noticed was the difference in their demeanor.
Those with estate planning in place, were at peace, relieved.
Those families without estate planning in place seemed overwhelmed at the thought of creating one.
Others felt like their estate was too small or not substantial enough to warrant an estate plan.
For example, we have single mom Sandy.
If all Sandy left was a will, and within that will Sandy bequeathed her home, jewelry, and personal items to her 13-year-old daughter, the daughter would have to go through the court supervised proceeding called probate, pay probate fees, then take her inheritance.
The better use for this document would have been to appoint legal guardianship of Sandy's minor child.
For many families, the primary goal of creating a revocable living trust is probate avoidance.

Soojin Kim Law is great!
Soojin helped us with our Trust Planning.
We were completely new to the idea of a Trust, but knew we needed to get one together for our kids.
She was very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
She guided us through the process and really helped us plan for our family.
Your divorce decree overrides any agreements or arrangements made prior.
As an unmarried person or newly married person, you have a new estate.
With this transition, you may also want to reconsider who you have assigned as an agent for your finances and/or health.
If you already have an estate plan, you may be able to update those documents or it may make sense to draft new documents.
As it stands, you have a new "estate" as well so it is critical for you to create an estate plan that reflects your current situation and needs.
I hope the content on this website was a helpful overview on the estate planning process.
Of course, no two families are the same and each family has a unique dynamic for which they will want to provide.
