Over the years as a probate and estate planning lawyer, I have seen a myriad of families, ranging from the families with proper estate planning in place to families who did not think estate planning was for them.
With the different families, what I noticed was the difference in their demeanor.
Those with estate planning in place, were at peace, relieved.
Those families without estate planning in place seemed overwhelmed at the thought of creating one.
Others felt like their estate was too small or not substantial enough to warrant an estate plan.
