Services
In 2003 Attorneys Jim Carney, Ann Davies and Jim Thorpe formed the law firm of Carney, Davies & Thorpe, LLC.
Already well-established, very experienced and respected lawyers in their own right, the desire was to create a fresh new law firm, one that would reflect their individual and collective personalities, and provide an environment for exceptional legal service to clients.
In 2013, the firm became Carney Thorpe, LLC, with the addition of partners, Jonathan Groessl and Christina Isackson.
Carney Thorpe is now a seven attorney law firm and each attorney brings a new and different perspective to the firm's cases, benefiting successful outcomes for our clients.
James R. Thorpe was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin and was educated there from preschool through Beloit College.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School, he spent approximately three years as a tax research attorney at the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance in Madison, Wisconsin.
Jim then joined what is now the Nowlan & Mouat Law Firm in Janesville, where he practiced in the transaction, real estate, and business law areas, representing growing area businesses.
Jim continues to focus his practice in these areas at Carney Thorpe, LLC.
Christina Isackson joined Carney Thorpe, LLC, in 2004.
Her practice is devoted primarily to business matters, real estate transactions, and contract law.
Chris works with businesses of all sizes, from new entrepreneurs to companies with generations of history.
She assists clients in matters including corporate governance and structure, contract negotiation and drafting, shareholder and member agreements, business acquisitions and sales, collections, and general advisory services in a variety of contexts.
