Her first profession was in the accounting field, having obtained her C.P.A. license in 1984. She practiced public accounting at Kenneth Leventhal, a Big 8 firm with a specialty in real estate and is now merged with Ernst & Young, LLP, a Big 4 accounting firm.
After 10 years, Ms. Steele left the field of accounting to attend law school. She completed her law degree and obtained her license to practice law in 1996 and opened her own law firm in 2004.
