If you are unable to work due to a physical or mental condition, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits.
The process begins with filing an initial application for disability benefits.
Most claims are denied at the initial application stage.
However, many applications are denied because claimants do not submit all of the proper documentation for their disability.
Having an attorney for the initial application is particularly beneficial for claimants over the age of 50 because Social Security applies special rules when determining eligibility for disability benefits.
