Bruce N. Powers is truly "Tulsa's hometown lawyer."
He was born in Tulsa, graduated from Tulsa Nathan Hale High School, and received a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University.
He served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, rising to the rank of Captain.
Resigning his commission, Bruce attended Law School at the University of Oklahoma.
After 10 years with insurance defense firms in Tulsa, Bruce started his own firm in 1997, expanding into several different areas.
If you've recently been in an accident, you know how difficult it can be to figure things out between multiple doctors and insurance adjusters - all while still balancing your life and responsibilities.
The first order of business is getting your life back to normal.
We see many insurance companies that offer a "quick settlement" of your medical bills and a couple thousand dollars.
Oklahoma law allows you two years from the date of the accident to file a case, so you do not have to be in a hurry.
Have you recently experienced the death of a family member or close friend?
If you are trying to figure out what to do about their assets, the process can be quite confusing!
During this difficult time, emotions are high, and sometimes family relationships can even be at stake.
Not in every case.
Probate may not be necessary, depending on the size of the estate, whether it includes real property and how it was titled.
In proper circumstances, Oklahoma has an Affidavit for collection of personal property valued at less than $50,000.
Are you worried about the future for your family?
Set them up for success with a Will, Trust, or simple estate planning services from Powers Law.
We have several options available that can spare your loved ones hardship in administering your estate or helping with your care.
With over 30 years experience, we're here to help you plan and execute the best arrangements to make for your family.
You can find a wide variety of templates online, but we have seen many "Do-It-Yourself" Wills that were not correctly executed or did not comply with Oklahoma law.
Many basic non-injury accidents can be handled directly with insurance; however, if you feel like you aren't getting the answers you need or the respect you deserve, it's time to call us!
We're here to help navigate the process with the best possible outcome.
On accident and personal injury cases, our fees are based on a percentage of compensation received.
No matter what, we will NEVER take more money than you receive in compensation.
We also don't factor in compensation you receive for basic property damage.
