Keegan & Keegan, Ross & Rosner was formed in 1978, when Thomas J. Keegan Jr. joined the firm of his father, who had been practicing law in Patchogue since the 1950s.
The practice has since expanded with the addition of Daniel C. Ross and Jamie G. Rosner as partners and is now known as Keegan & Keegan, Ross & Rosner.
With offices in Patchogue and Mattituck, the firm provides full-service legal representation to Suffolk County residents and the greater Long Island, New York Metro region.
The firm's three partners are supported by a staff of associate attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants who utlize the latest in office technology, ensuring efficient service for our clients.
Just like prices fluctuate, the demands and details of legal representation change with the times.
It has never been more important to have an experienced real estate attorney help guide you through the process, which includes listing properties with real estate agents, contract signings, clearing title and mortgage issues in preparation for closing, and in handling the real estate closing.
Keegan & Keegan, Ross & Rosner has handled thousands of these transactions.
In additions to homeowners our office represents both landlords and tenants in connection with an array of legal issues which arise when our clients venture into the real estate market.
People often overlook the impact municipalities have on our day to day lives.
They control the zoning laws which ensure new construction doesn't conflicting with existing residents or businesses, and preserve the general style or character of a community.
They make sure our roads are safe for pedestrians and motorists alike.
They maintain the parks and various other publicly accessible areas of recreation.
Municipal governments can be the oil that keeps a machine running smoothly.
Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world, and there are times when a municipality doesn't perform the duties it should.
We have all made mistakes.
Sometimes our mistakes result in criminal prosecutions.
At times, we may have been wrongly accused or the prosecution does not have enough evidence to convict.
At other times, we may admit we have made a mistake and want to limit the damage to ourselves and our loved ones.
One of the most common areas of criminal prosecution is drunk driving.
In Suffolk County alone, there are about 4,000 DWI prosecutions each year.
While drunk driving is dangerous and can result in the serious injury and death of others, absent an accident, significant penalties and jail terms can usually be avoided.
Even if you do not have a large estate, you simply must have a will.
This is especially true if you have children.
It is extremely important, choose a guardian to determine the percentage of impoundment of your belongings and also to make arrangements for care and custody in the event of an unexpected death.
It is particularly important that you have a will prepared if you are not formally married and have children with your partner.
Although you consider yourselves spouses, New York Law does not generally recognize a common law marriage.
