After many successful years, the last several being almost exclusively as a real estate attorney, I've wrapped up my solo practice as Maxwell, Lawyer PLLC. I'm now available to help with your real estate needs at Phillips, Dunn, Shriver & Carroll, PC. Originally from the New York metropolitan area of northern New Jersey, I came to Vermont in 1990 to attend Vermont Law School.
Prior to that time I was an actor and acting teacher with home in New York City. Following my term as a clerk for Justice Gibson, I joined the Windham County State's Attorney's Office as a Deputy State's Attorney. I worked there as a criminal prosecutor from 1994 to 1999, after which I joined the local law firm of Fisher & Fisher. My experience at Fisher & Fisher took me into civil practice, and I have enjoyed the wide range of human issues and dilemmas that the civil area of practice presents.
I opened my own office in 2001 and have helped many clients since that time as a sole practitioner. In 2011 I took advantage of a marvelous opportunity to move to 136 Western Avenue in Brattleboro to take over the real estate practice of one of Brattleboro's finest attorneys, Timothy J. O'Connor.
