I am an attorney with over ten years of experience handling everything from petty traffic offenses to felony sexual assaults to appeals in front of the highest state appellate courts. While I have tried and won cases at the highest levels, I take particular pride in empathizing and communicating with every client in the same way I would expect of an attorney who was representing me.
I understand that nuance and context are oftentimes missing from police accounts of alleged crimes. Further, I understand that none of us should be defined by at our lowest moments and that there is always more to a person than a crime which they are accused of committing. Finally, I understand that law enforcement oftentimes violate the constitutional rights of those accused of crimes and, when they do so, they need to be held to account.

I am originally from Lincoln, Nebraska and am a 2006 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law.
During the course of my career, I have represented clients at all stages of criminal proceedings and have conducted dozens of jury trials.
I have also been fortunate to have had the opportunity to argue several cases in the Nebraska appellate courts.
Most notably, in State v. Merchant, 848 N.W.2d 630 Neb.
2014, I successfully argued that the jury instructions issued at trial were an inaccurate statement of law and necessitated a new trial for a client who had been sentenced to a period of incarceration of 13 years.
