He was one of seven children.
He graduated from the Benjamin Harrison Law School in Indianapolis (now know as the Indianapolis Law School).
He served in the United States Navy for two years in World War II.
After the war he and his brother, Samuel Power, became partners and established the law firm of Power & Power in 1947.
It was the first law office to be located on the ground level at the present address of 253 N. Jackson Street.
He was one of seven children.
