In an effort to maintain friendship, commerce and navigation with other countries, the United States has signed a number of treaties with foreign nations designed to promote trade and investment.
Treaty Foreign Nationals, individuals residing in countries with which the U. S. has made such an agreement, are eligible to obtain an E1 Investment Visa allowing them to travel to, live and work here in the United States for an extended period of time.
The E1 is specifically designed for individuals who are coming to the U.S. for the purpose of carrying on substantial trade, chiefly between the United States and that particular treaty country.
TN visas are for Canadian or Mexican citizens who want to work in a professional capacity in the United States.
The TN visa is based on the NAFTA treaty and allows certain professionals to come to the United States temporarily and work for up to three years at a time.
These professions, listed completely below, include certain types of business people such as accountants, engineers, and research assistants, medical professionals, scientists and teachers.

US Citizenship Application Form N-400 is used for obtaining U.S. citizenship (naturalization).
Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) over the age of 18 who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for US citizenship.
Lawful Permanent residents ("green card" holder) with valid green card for a period of the past 5 years can file for US citizenship.
If married to US citizen you may apply for US citizenship after 3 years with valid green card.
There are exceptions, if an applicant has served in the United States armed forces during war, that individual may be obtain citizenship without first becoming a permanent resident if they were in the United States upon enlistment into the U.S. military.
Alternatively, if you wish to enter the country for a longer temporary period to live and work in the USA, your employer must file a petition on your behalf for a US work visa.
These include H-1B visas for many professional occupations, L-1A and L-1B visas for certain transferee personnel, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican professionals, E-3 visas for Australian professionals, I visas for journalists, and R-1 visas for religious workers.
