Chapter 13 bankruptcy creates a debt repayment plan that protects your assets and allows you to pay only a percentage of your debts from your current income. I offer an option that allows people to get back on their feet, get a decent night's sleep, and to be able to work normal hours without juggling two jobs to pay old bills. How does one find the right attorney to assist them with a pending foreclosure, mountains of medical bills, vehicle repossession or wage garnishment?

It is important that your bankruptcy attorney has the experience to assist you in making the right decision after giving you all of your options. I have been working with people facing financial difficulties for 15 years. I will help you find the right decision to resolve your financial difficulties. No one wants to have to speak with a bankruptcy attorney.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy is referred to as a liquidation bankruptcy that discharges your debts and gives you a fresh financial start.
In a typical Chapter 7 bankruptcy case after approximately 90 days from the day you file for relief under chapter 7, most of your debts will be discharged.
This means you are no longer liable to pay the debt.
Some debts are not discharged, however, and you still must pay them.
Examples of non-dischargeable debts include past-due child support payments, some taxes and student loans.

What about working with a debt consolidation company or a credit counselor instead of filing for bankruptcy?.
A Bankruptcy filing will remain on your credit report for seven to ten years.
However, this does not mean that you must wait 7-10 years after filing bankruptcy to obtain a credit card, buy a car or finance a home.
Depending on your employment, your income, and your ability to repay any incurred debt, you may be offered credit by auto loan companies and credit card companies shortly after your bankruptcy is discharged (typically 3-5 months after filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy).
