Heywood, Cari & Anderson, S.C. traces its roots back to June of 1945 when John D. Heywood established a sole practice above the drug store in downtown Hudson, Wisconsin.
Mr. Heywood practiced almost completely solely until 1955 when Kenneth Hayes and William Hess joined the firm giving rise to Heywood, Hayes & Hess.
Mr. Hess left the partnership in 1959, and the firm Heywood & Hayes practiced until 1974.
Then, Mr. Heywood practiced alone until Samuel R. Cari joined the firm in 1977.
Their partnership existed until Mr. Heywood's death in 2001.

Several jury trials that resulted in not guilty verdicts for First Degree Child Sexual Assault, Incest, Child Enticement, OWI-3 rd offense, Carrying a concealed weapon, and Possession of methamphetamine.
Various wins including a dismissal by the court after presentment of evidence, granting of a suppression of evidence motion, vacating a sex offender registration and granting of an additional year of sentence credit.
