I graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1985, and have been in practice for five years. Most of my career was spent in business, primarily commercial lending and commercial workouts. Practicing in elder law has long been a dream of mine, and I am very happy to be in Sequim. My practice area is Elder Law and Estate Planning.

I understand that the process of preparing estate planning documents can be difficult for you and your family. I provide personal attention in a calm and reassuring manner to manage the process to a conclusion that meets your needs. Scammers often use scare tactics, caller ID spoofing, and phishing email and regular mail to make the scam look official.

The real IRS will never demand immediate payment over the phone, demand that you pay taxes without allowing you to question or appeal the amount, or ask for payment information over the phone.

A Will is a document that tells the court what you would like to do with your property when you die.
You can make a valid will if you are over the age of 18 and of sound mind.
Your will must be in writing.
It must be signed by you.
Your will must also be signed by two witnesses who watch you sign the will.
You must tell them it's your will.
They must verify they saw you sign.

Under this type of legal arrangement, the Grantor will transfer ownership of certain assets to the Trustee who will manage the assets for the benefit of the Beneficiary.
If the trust has been created to go into effect during the Grantor's lifetime, then it is referred to as a "living trust."
On the other hand, if the trust has been created to go into effect only after the Grantor dies, then it is referred to as a "testamentary trust."
Also, if a trust is created under the terms of a Last Will and Testament, then it is a "testamentary trust."

Washington, in comparison to other states, has a streamlined probate process.
