As a young law student, I worked under the Father of International Criminal Law, Professor Cherif Bassiouni, who provided valuable mentorship as I navigated the deep, dark world of sex and labor trafficking, I was privileged to collaborate on a 3 year report the International Human Rights Institute conducted to investigate over 10,000 incidents of trafficking of women and children in Latin America.
I translated painful testimonies of survivors of such heinous acts, from Spanish into English.
This foray into trafficking first ignited my desire to help victims of human rights violations and has helped me in my private law practice as well.
