April received her bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Florida in 2006 (B.A, cum laude), and her law degree from Florida State University in 2013 (J.D., Magna Cum Laude) as well as a master's degree in urban planning (M.S.P.).

Prior to entering law school, April spent two years living in Honduras, during which she worked as a missionary and taught school.

His training consisted of two weeks of concentrated study presented by the U.S. Tax Service and an additional 30 hours of self-directed training at his office.
