When someone dies with a will or without any Estate Planning a formal court proceeding is required to take care of their estate and pass their property on to their heirs. There are sometimes ways to avoid this process but a consultation is required for us to see if that can be done. When someone dies with a Trust there is no court proceeding required however there are certain steps that must be taken to protect the Estate and make sure it's properly administrated.

Good Estate Planning is Vital not only for you but for your family. At least half of Americans don't have a will, which means there is no plan in place for what will happen to their assets upon their death. If you don't have a plan in place the government has one set up for you - but it may not be the one you want! And you can rest assured that their plan will cost your estate time and money.

There are many misconceptions and major problems with estate planning that can cost your family their fortune. Many believe that saving on federal estate taxes is the main reason for planning, but it is so much more than avoiding taxes alone.

I have come to know Mark Lydell through another attorney over the years.
He has been very honest and clear with legal advice keeping within my layman terms of understanding.
When it came to estate planning we kept in the planning stages for far too long with no pressure from him.
When the wife and I finally pulled the trigger he made the process SO simple and clear that I feel ashamed for postponing the process.
I have been happily married since 1981 to my best friend whom I met on a year long Christian mission trip.
Since then we raised three children who were all born while I was in law school.
We now have three wonderful grandchildren, and we are greatly enjoying this season of our lives.
For many decades now, my first priority in life has been to serve my Lord Jesus Christ by serving others.
One of the ways that I have done so is by serving people by representing them in family law litigation for almost three decades, while at the same time being actively involved in Christian leadership for over forty years.
I have been married since 1980 to the love of my life, Kerri.
We have three children and 1 grandchild.
My wife and I have as our first priority our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, and devoting time to the study of His Word.
In 1984 after working in the insurance industry for over 10 years I decided to go to law school and enrolled at Lincoln Law in Sacramento.
Like my brother, one of my proudest achievements of law school was being Valedictorian of my class.
After graduating from Lincoln Law School, I practiced law in Yuba City from 1989 until 1996 when I stepped away while battling cancer.
