Trial Lawyers College
TLC is dedicated to training and educating lawyers and judges who are committed to the jury system and to representing and obtaining justice for individuals. Being a lawyer is a hard job. I mean, plain and simple, you're fighting all the time. TLC really empowers us to connect with people so all the fears that are ingrained in us fade to the background because the work we're doing is so important.

I would definitely encourage anybody who's thinking about doing cross examination and improving on cross-examination to sign up for this seminar or similar seminars. It's easy to do. You don't have to travel anywhere. And you're sitting in a community with people who will just make you a better trial attorney. Get there as fast as you can and you'll never look back and your life will never be the same.

Knowing this group of people is like having a nationwide law firm. And every time I think that I've seen the most amazing thing that I can see people do for each other, somebody ramps it up to a higher level.
Services
The Trial Lawyers College is dedicated to training and educating lawyers and judges who are committed to the jury system and to representing and obtaining justice for individuals; the poor, the injured, the forgotten, the voiceless, the defenseless and the damned, and to protecting the rights of such people from corporate and government oppression.
In all of its activities, the Trial Lawyers College will foster and nourish an open atmosphere of caring for people regardless of their race, age, creed, religion, national origin, physical abilities, gender, or sexual orientation.
Registration is open to U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) who meet all of the following criteria: 1.
The registrant is currently licensed to practice law in the United States; 2. The registrant is a member in good standing of a State Bar; and 3.
The registrant does not currently represent insurance companies, large corporations or governmental entities other than legal services or public defenders.
Note: Paralegals from qualifying law firms may attend the Trial Skills Foundation (formerly titled Psychodrama for Lawyers) course with a qualifying attorney from their firm, and permission of the Registrar.
In 2016, in response to the worsening Louisiana indigent defense crisis, Trial Lawyers College alum Tommy Davenport invited his local public defender's office to give him ten cases, which Tommy would defend for free.
Tommy felt that he was no better of a lawyer than a public defender, but that he had something that his local public defenders lacked: time.
He also had TLC training, and by combining those assets, Tommy was able to provide great service to clients who had languished for months in the parish jail, securing their release when they otherwise might have waited for a year for an overworked public defender to be assigned to them.

Lawyers get bogged down in minutiae and facts.
The facts are important.
The facts are the latticework upon which you hang the flesh of your case, and the flesh of your case is going to be the principles, the values, the emotion, the feelings, the betrayal; those.
You've got to understand who your audience is really is.
What are the morals of your jury?
All courses provided by the Trial Lawyers College are CLE accredited by the state in which the course is held.
It is your responsibility to apply for CLE credit in the state(s) in which you practice law.
You may be wondering why TLC does not apply for CLE credit for all of its courses in all 50 states.
First, it is cost prohibitive (due to the staff time and fees associated with applying for approved provider status), and second, most State Bars will not accredit a course that is held in another state.
