Social Security Disability benefits are a lifeline for many people with disabilities who can't work. Without these benefits, you may not be able to afford food or housing. Unfortunately, the application process is very complicated and confusing. Many people find themselves denied when they apply because of mistakes in their applications or, even worse, due to problems with their medical records that get lost in the system!

I'm J. Michael Ivey, Attorney at Law. I help you navigate through this complex disability claims process by working directly with you from start to finish. We can make sure all of your bases are covered before applying for benefits. My goal is to help you win your claim so you can keep receiving the money you need each month! I opened my practice in 1994 and have helped thousands of clients get the results that they deserve.

The Social Security Administration denies more than half of disability claims each year. You've worked hard throughout your life, paid into the system, and have become disabled.
Services
Originally from Scotts Hill, Tennessee, I have been practicing law since I opened my law firm in 1994.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin, I attended Nashville School of Law to obtain my law degree.
Currently, I serve as the City Judge for Parsons, Tennessee and Scotts Hill, Tennessee.
My primary cases are social security disability and personal injury including auto accidents.
I am a member of NOSSCR the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.
The process of obtaining Social Security Benefits is often stressful and time consuming - and cases that deserve benefits can be denied if the right lawyer isn't advocating for their clients.
With an 80% approval rate and over 25 years of practicing law, I am well-versed in the varying factors of the most straightforward cases to the most unique cases.
Assuming the Judge determines you are disabled and you have enough credits, you will receive SSDI.
The amount of your back pay and monthly check depends on how much you have worked and earned in the past.
When you have been harmed in an auto accident due to someone's negligent actions, you are entitled to compensation.
Don't assume your insurance company will take care of you or your loved ones.
The insurance company will try to keep payments to a minimum.
They employ adjusters and defense attorneys who may use questionable tactics to keep you from obtaining the compensation you deserve.
Also, I find that many attorneys may not fully and adequately represent you.
Did you know that some attorneys only obtain your settlement and then require you to pay medical bills from your settlement?
We understand that navigating Social Security and Disability claims can be overwhelming.
We're here to help you get the best outcome for your case while helping you understand the process as it takes place.
We're always happy to answer any questions you have, but we've included some of the most common questions that we get from new clients.
Please take a look and reach out to us with any other questions you might have!
Before we even consider whether Social Security or a Disability Judge determines if you are disabled, we must make sure that you are eligible for benefits.
