Murphy McCoubrey traces its roots back to 1930's when Attorneys Thomas D. Murphy, Sr. and William K. McCoubrey were admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
It was the beginning of two legal careers and the beginning of a practice that would span over seven decades, outlasting 13 presidential terms and weathering several economic downturns.
Mr. Murphy and Mr. McCoubrey founded the Chicopee firm in 1953.
Before opening their doors, Mr. Murphy served as both a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission in New York and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Boston.
