Shayne Healea is presently serving in his second term as Moniteau County Prosecuting Attorney, after having first been elected in 2010. Previously, Shayne spent his professional career in law enforcement working for the Moniteau County Sheriff-Kenny Jones, Eldon Police Department as a patrol officer and several years assigned to the Missouri State Highway Patrol-Division of Drug and Crime as a Task Force Officer assigned to both the East Central Drug Task Force and M.U.S.T.A.N.G.
Drug Task Force. In his years of law enforcement experience, Shayne conducted overt and covert narcotics investigations throughout the state. In addition to conducting drug investigations, as Task Force Sergeant, Shayne was responsible for assisting Municipal Police Departments and Sheriff's Departments with larger scale investigations ranging from burglary to homicide.
As the Elected Full-Time Prosecuting Attorney for Moniteau County, Shayne is responsible for prosecuting all criminal offenses in violation of the Missouri Revised Statutes and frequently serves as a Special Prosecuting Attorney throughout Missouri's 26th Judicial Circuit, which includes the counties of Miller, Morgan, Camden and Laclede.

The Bad Checks Department of the Moniteau County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, besides prosecuting individuals who pass bad checks in Moniteau County, assists local individuals and businesses in collecting what they are owed from the individuals who wrote the checks.
Below is the procedure for reporting bad checks to our office, as well as what we require in order to prosecute those individuals who pass bad checks in Moniteau County and situations in which prosecution may not be possible.

The Moniteau County Prosecuting Attorney's Office shares a prosecuting attorney with the 26th Judicial Circuit Child Support Program.
This multi-county child support cooperative was created to allow one prosecutor the ability to dedicate his/her time to handle only child support cases.
The child support prosecutor and his/her assistants work closely with custodial parents, non-custodial parents, employers, Missouri Probation & Parole and the court system.
Cases are referred to the 26th Circuit Child Support Program by the Family Support Division when FSD determines that a Prosecuting Attorney Referral is needed.

Since that time, CADV has grown to serve a three-county area in mid-Missouri by providing services to all victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
