He received a B.S. in General Studies majoring in journalism from West Texas A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
He not only graduated with honors in the top ten percent of his class in law school, he was on law review and was a member of the moot court.
Linny began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Ulrich, then Chief Judge of the Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
