After years practicing as a Certified Family Law Specialist in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo Courts, serving as a Family Law Judge Pro Tem and Mediator in the Los Angeles Superior Courts, and Chair of the Family Law Section of the San Luis Obispo Bar Association, I decided to limit my practice to non-litigation alternatives of mediation and collaborative divorce.
The process of divorce can be a hard life event, even in the best of circumstances. Having to do so through the adversarial court system compounds the pain of divorce, especially when children are involved. The unfortunate reality is in most cases the parties lose both financially and emotionally, leaving scars that may take years to heal. For those reasons I terminated my litigation practice to focus exclusively on resolving divorce matters out of court.
To do that, I helped organize the first Collaborative Practice Group in the County of San Luis Obispo. Our collaborative lawyers and professionals are trained and committed to helping parties settle their issues out of court in a respectful manner through a process that is dignified, private, and confidential.
