Services
We advise small businesses and family farms on the development, formation, and administration of business entities.
A business formation requires registration with the Secretary of State, obtaining a Tax Identification Number, and implementing structures and agreements as to how the business will operate.
Choosing a business entity involves many considerations, including tax consequences, ease and flexibility of operations, owner liability, and compliance costs.
We can help you decide which entity is best for your business.
A thoughtful and effective estate plan involves many considerations, including securing your own personal situation, passing assets in a meaningful way, reducing costs and taxes, and considering your thoughts and wishes.
We seek to advise you to consider your options, make smart decisions, and establish your confidence that your affairs are in order.
In preparing your estate plan, we consider your goals and wishes, examine your financial situation, and can work with your other advisers and agents to help craft documents that fit your situation.
When a loved one has passed away, we help to guide you through the process of managing and completing an estate or a trust.
Certain assets will transfer by beneficiary designation or contract, including life insurance, retirement accounts, and jointly held assets.
Furthermore, assets in a trust will avoid probate.
Furthermore, certain estates with less than $50,000 in assets can be transferred through a small estate affidavit and without court involvement.
We assist in the coordination and proper administration of probate and non-probate assets.
We assist individuals, fiduciaries, and business owners with tax preparation and tax planning.
We provide you with the advice and support to file required documents, develop tax-efficient strategies, and ensure your trust and confidence.
While we offer services in tax preparation, we are also happy to work jointly with CPAs, wealth managers, investment advisors, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and effective strategy.
Through experience and involvement with other areas of the law, our tax planning often will integrate business, estate, succession, and property decisions.
