Our principal, Linda K. Fisher, has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts since 1996 and has been trained at national and regional law firms working on very sophisticated and complex legal transactions in the areas of corporate finance, securities and corporate law.
Linda K. Fisher is an estate planning attorney admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
Attorney Fisher provides customized estate planning and elder care services that include revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, special needs trusts, ILITs, probate and trust administration, asset protection, Medicaid/MassHealth planning and qualification, VA benefits, estate tax planning, business succession planning, guardianships/conservatorships, and estate tax return preparation.
Prior to starting her own practice, Attorney Fisher was an associate with Peabody & Arnold LLP in Boston and worked in the business law department's financial markets and corporate groups where she concentrated on municipal and corporate debt securities, as well as structured mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities.
Nina Bohan has worked in the estate and trust administration field for eight years in Boston law firms as an estate and trust administrator and paralegal.
During the last four of those years, Nina earned her Law Degree at Suffolk Law's evening program.
Continuing in the field, she worked at a prominent Boston Law firm as a lawyer in the Estates and Trusts Department where she handled all aspects of estate administration and aided family members through the probate process.
Nina joined the team at Fisher Law because of their client-based atmosphere.
There are many legal strategies involved in estate planning, including wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and health care documents.
New clients often say that they do not have an estate plan.
Most people are surprised to learn that they actually do have a plan.
In the absence of legal planning otherwise, their estate will be distributed after death according to Massachusetts's laws of intestacy.
Of course, this may not be the plan they would have chosen.
A common misconception is that a will and an estate plan are the same thing.
The last will and testament is no doubt an essential piece of an estate plan, but it cannot accomplish everything that an estate plan should.
Nevertheless, the will is an excellent place to start.
The estate planning attorneys at Fisher Law LLC can draft a legally valid and enforceable will that meets your needs.
We can also update or revise an existing will or revoke an outdated will and replace it with one that reflects your current goals and desires.
