These are unprecedented times and I want to be real with you.
I'm nervous about what the future may hold too.
I wish for all of us that we weren't having to consider these things, but we are.
For me and my family, we are having to think about what would happen to a loved one if they got sick or passed away.
If you are in a similar situation and thinking about these things today, I'd like to invite you to join me in a webinar where I will walk you through how you can protect your family.
While I can't stop this pandemic, what I can do is help you rest assured that your family will be protected if anything ever happened to you.
Estate Planning is the process of planning for that incapacity and for our ultimate passing.
Our goal in Estate Planning is for you to always retain as much control as possible.
When you pass away, you want the property that you have earned to go to those you want, how you want, and when you want.
Do you have minor children and want to nominate a Guardian for them in the event you and your spouse pass away?
In order to do that, you have to execute a Last Will and Testament or have funded a Trust.
Are you concerned about the costs of long term care?
If you become incapacitated, would you prefer to leave your assets to your family rather than spend them on long term care?
In Georgia, the average cost of nursing home care is $209 a day, $6,270 a month, or a staggering $76,103 a year.
When faced with a loved one's pending need for nursing home care, the last thing you need is additional stress about finances.
If your loved one does not need a skilled nursing facility yet, we can discuss Pre-Crisis Medicaid planning strategies including irrevocable trusts and gifts to other family members.
Has a loved one recently passed away?
Did he/she have a Last Will and Testament?
If so, you will more than likely need to go through the Probate process.
Probate is the process of presenting a person's Last Will and Testament to the county Probate Court and petitioning the Court to be appointed as the Executor of the Estate.
Once appointed as the Executor, there are specific requirements imposed by Georgia law to fulfill and our staff will walk you through all obligations you may have as the Executor of an Estate.
