Mattieson Law
I dedicate my personal attention to each case I take on because top-notch service and quality representation are what I pride myself and my practice on. We're all human, and we all deserve to be treated as such. I'm always real with my clients because to me, you're an individual, not just another case. Over the course of my nearly two-decades-long career in the legal industry, I have had the opportunity to help countless clients facing difficulties in nearly every area of law.

My diverse and expansive experiences have shaped me into the adaptable attorney I am today. When I'm not advocating for my clients, I'm pursuing my other passions, which include being a dedicated horsewoman, a proud family woman, and a devoted dog owner. I'm a member of the board of directors of Horses' Haven, a non-profit equine sanctuary and adoption facility.

My compassionate and determined nature serves me well in both my professional and personal pursuits.
Services
Chiara Mattieson founded Mattieson Law, PLC in 2020, guided by the principle that legal services should be provided in a manner that is necessarily helpful to clients, not just a necessary expense.
Mattieson Law puts Chiara's experience and skill to work for clients in a lean, agile, dynamic, and flexible framework that enables her to bring quality legal services and representation to a wider, more diverse client base and often enables her and her clients to see, and say "yes" to, strategies and solutions that may not have been identified or considered before.
In Michigan, if you don't have valid estate planning in place, state statutes and the Courts make these decisions for you.
Estate planning does not just determine "who gets your stuff after you die, " and it is not a "one size fits all" proposition.
For example: some people do not need a trust, but some do (and no - amount of assets is not the sole determining factor).
But just about everyone should have planning documents that designate who they want to have the power to make medical, financial, and other important decisions for them if they become unable to do so, or who should be considered with priority to serve as guardians or conservators of their minor children if something should happen to them.
The rights at issue in probate and trust disputes are always important, and often address fundamental freedom and self-determination concerns.
Capacity challenges, petitions to impose guardianships or conservatorships, and challenges to the validity of wills and trusts are examples of such litigation.
If you're facing any of these legal issues, let a professional take the lead.
Reach out to me today for skilled guidance in Novi, Michigan.
Probate and trust litigation is also the means by which people with legally recognized interests in assets and affairs managed by personal representatives, trustees, conservators, or other fiduciaries have the propriety of their actions reviewed by a Court.
Mattieson Law prides itself on assisting other attorneys when needed.
We believe in teamwork and providing the best services possible for all clients, whether they are ours or yours.
Keep your clients and your full fee, but avoid feeling overwhelmed.
By having Mattieson Law serve as Co-Counsel, you can provide your clients the benefit of an experienced team approach and show your opponents that you've got backup.
From moving for your admission, to reviewing filings and planned action for compliance with state and local rules and practice, to providing insight on judges and other local attorneys, having a colleague local to the jurisdiction and venues where you're litigating gives you an advantage.
I respect my paying clients.
Therefore, I offer a short initial, pre-engagement phone consultation for potential clients who are in the process of seeking to engage and pay an attorney for legal services.
The purpose and scope of the consultation is to exchange the information needed to evaluate whether or not I can be of assistance to a potential client and what the terms for retention/engagement will be.
For these calls to be most beneficial and effective, they should be scheduled.
Sending an email or leaving me a message with your contact information and letting me know that you'd like to discuss a potential retention is a great way to start!
