Gleichman Law Firm
At the Gleichman Law Firm LLC, my goal is to help you during those anxious times when you need smart legal guidance and a sympathetic ear. I'm Peter A. Gleichman and I've been in legal practice for 35 years, dedicated to supporting individuals and families in Cherokee and Cobb counties who are coping with the strain of divorce or wrestling with wills and probate after the death of a loved one.

The decision to divorce is usually a devastating episode for a family. The decisions you make affect every member of your family on a social, emotional and financial level. In the same way, managing the estate of a loved one can also be an emotionally difficult time. In both areas, I can draw upon my extensive legal knowledge and provide you with relaxed, open surroundings to discuss your best course of action.

I offer personal counsel to help you make tough family decisions with a clear mind - considerations based on three decades in practice. Years of experience - After practicing in northern New England for 17 years, I moved to the Marietta area in 2000.
Services
There are few events in life more stressful than a divorce or more devastating than the passing of a loved one.
For 30 years, I have been assisting families and individuals in resolving sensitive divorce issues and guiding them through the complex web of laws related to wills and probate.
After practicing with law firms in New Hampshire and Georgia, I founded my own firm in 2012 to give you the personal attention that such sensitive legal matters demand.
As an active member of the communities of Cherokee and Cobb counties, I've come to know a wide range of people on a personal basis, just as I have done for the past 30 years.
Getting a divorce is so emotionally devastating that it's often hard to trust your own instincts.
That's why at Gleichman Law Firm LLC, I watch out not only for your legal interests, but also for your emotional well-being at a trying time.
In divorce, there are many legal issues to be managed concerning your home, children and assets.
My years of experience help me make sure your interests, both tangible and intangible, are cared for.
During your consultation, I will answer any and all questions you may have about the divorce process and explain to you how I can help.
In my years as a member of the Marietta community, I've seen more parents distraught about child custody than about any other aspect of divorce and family law.
Naturally, you will be worried about whether your relationship with your child will change or how your divorce will affect your child's well-being, self-confidence and emotional stability.
I will help you settle issues of paternity, joint custody, fathers' rights, grandparents' rights, visitation and modifications to your existing agreement.
During a divorce, you are likely concerned with how you will provide for your children.
I have spent years using my knowledge of child support laws to make sure you and your children get what you need to have the life you deserve.
Naturally, there are important questions to ask as you approach your child custody hearing.
Your income, your employment status or prospects and any change in your living circumstances.
In arriving at a figure for support, the court often calculates what your spouse is able to earn and not what he or she is actually earning.
Some divorces go more smoothly than others.
Most of the time there are serious issues that have to be settled in a Georgia court, which is time-consuming and expensive.
Sometimes, however, your mutual issues can be settled in advance, away from the court, by a mediator.
I have provided mediation for divorcing couples for many years, assisting them in finding acceptable solutions for the important issues that will shape their lives after divorce.
Mediation is a way to let a third party into discussions about your divorce and to help keep you and your spouse on track without name-calling or bringing up old issues that no longer matter.
