Maat Legal is a valuable resource for estate planning attorneys. While technology has rapidly grown and evolved the way we manage our assets and memories, estate planning has not progressed at the same rate. Whether people know it or not, there is a need for modern estate planning that the next generation of estate planning attorneys must fill. This motivated Rilus Dana, an estate planning and probate attorney with almost two decades of experience in estate planning law firms, to create Maat Legal.
When he worked as a law clerk at his father's estate planning firm, he experienced firsthand how attorneys didn't have solutions for the estate problems created by technology and the modern world. He was shocked that when most things come by email, they could only tell people to "watch what comes in the mail" after a loved one passed. So, Rilus set an intention to find his own way to practice mindfully and empower his clients with modern estate planning.
Through seven years of trial and error applying these concepts in his own practice with thousands of different clients, he has developed the wisdom of what works in an estate planning law practice and what doesn't.
