She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California in Santa Cruz, in the area of Language Studies and a Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara.

Even in law school, Elisabeth represented Family Law clients as a member of the Family Law Clinic.
She also represented criminal clients in court as a certified law student and was a member of the criminal law moot court.

These cases involved custody and visitation, support, division of property, restraining orders and establishment of paternity.
