I grew up nearby Detroit, Michigan.
In 1985, my family moved to San Jose and my father (also an attorney) worked as a Deputy District Attorney for Santa Clara County for 10 years.
I joined the Marine Corps, went to college and law school in California and ended up working at the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office throughout law school and after becoming an attorney.
I am proud that the time spent in the Marine Corps has taught me many valuable lessons that I apply to my law practice to this day.

If you are charged on the basis of having drugs with the intent to sell, use or distribute, then you are being accused of violating of the California Health and Safety Code.
This code states that any person charged and convicted of narcotic-related crimes can be fined thousands of dollars and may even spend time in federal prison.
All that is needed to arrest you and charge with a drug crime is your possession of the substance.
You do not need to be directly under the influence of the drug at the time; you may be completely sober but still have the drug in your car and you may be found guilty.

Have you been charged with a gang crime?
California considers street gangs to be an organization or association of a group of three or more people that share a common name, symbol (such as tattoos or graffiti) and frequently meet in a specified location on a regular basis.
The majority of street gangs often work together and perform illegal or violent crimes.
Law enforcement officials are beginning to come down hard on gangs in San Jose and if you have been arrested under suspicion of being gang-affiliated, you may be facing very serious penalties.
