Welcome to the website of The Law Office of Dean H. Humphrey. Since 1995, I have been helping clients throughout North Carolina. At my law firm, I make sure that I handle every client's case with the time, attention, and energy that the case deserves. No matter the kind of case or the size of the case that I am handling, I respect that every client wants and deserves my individual attention and expertise.
I do everything that I can to make myself available to my clients. For example, if you call me or email me after normal business hours, you will reach me on my cell phone. Legal questions and issues often arise outside of normal business hours and I am available for all of my clients. If you have any questions about traffic tickets, criminal charges, car wrecks, or personal injury cases in North Carolina, I hope you will call me so that I can help you.
Being arrested is significant since a conviction can cause problems in almost every part of your life. If you are arrested for DWI in North Carolina, your license and your freedoms are at risk.

Services
I was born in Burlington, but grew up in Mocksville, North Carolina.
I attended college at UNC before going to Wake Forest for law school.
I graduated from law school in 1995.
After working for a law firm in Mocksville for almost two years, my wife and I chose Wilmington as the place where we wanted to start our lives together.
We moved to Wilmington in the summer of 1997 and immediately fell in love with southeast North Carolina!
We have never considered living anywhere else.
We have also been blessed with two wonderful sons.

Since starting my law firm, I have worked very hard to achieve three goals for every client: providing quality and respectful legal assistance, charging a fair and reasonable legal fee, and always being available.
My law firm has been open more than 10 years and I have been blessed with many satisfied clients.
As a result, I have been able to continue to provide personal legal service to each and every client.

The overwhelming majority of my time is spent handling cases of personal injury -- car wrecks, Workers' Compensation, etc.
Since moving to Wilmington in 1997, I have handled several thousand cases.
However, there is no doubt that every case is different because each person's body and injuries are always different.
It is easy to dismiss a traffic ticket as something minor or inconsequential.

If you hire me to help you with your personal injury case, I will fight to make sure the insurance companies do not try to take advantage of you during your period of recovery.
I will also help you navigate the medical system so you can get the medical care that you need.

When a person gets arrested, they usually fall into one of two categories: they feel like their life is over or they feel like the arrest is no big deal.
The truth is usually in the middle.
Being arrested is significant because of the way that a conviction can cause problems in almost every part of your life.
However, depending on the charges and depending on a person's criminal record, there are often things that can be done to lessen the impact of the charges.
Plus, a person always has the right to demand a trial and to fight for their innocence in court.
