Our husband-wife team of attorneys has over 25 years of combined law practice experience, and have called Knoxville home since moving here in the late 1990's to attend the University of Tennessee. James Corcoran attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from with a bachelor's degree in English with a Minor in Political Science. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2005 with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution.

Since he obtained his law license in 2005, James has dedicated his practice to representing individuals, children, and families. His work has an emphasis in Family law and Child Welfare law (dependency and neglect cases and termination of parental rights cases, often involving the Department of Children's Services), including work as a Guardian Ad Litem - representing the best interests of at-risk children in Knoxville and Maryville.

James has seen all sides of these cases - representing parents, the children's best interest, and as a former Department of Children's Services attorney, he has extensive experience dealing with DCS.
