Services
We serve the citizens of Winter Park and surrounding counties in many aspects of the law, including Estate Planning, Probate, Real Estate transactions, Civil litigation, Foreclosure defense, and Ecclesiastical Law.
Established in 1969 as Hunter, Pattillo, Powell & Carroll, P.A., and soon growing into Hunter, Pattillo, Marchman & Sanders, the firm became one of civic responsibility and awareness, encouraging its partners to take an active role in both politics and government, supporting the Honorable Rom W. Powell in his successful bid for Orange County Circuit Court and supporting both Daniel M. Hunter and Kenneth R. Marchman as they successfully campaigned and served as Mayor of the City of Winter Park.
Our firm handles many aspects of legal work, including providing legal advice to clients on a variety of matters such as landlord/tenant issues, civil matters, real estate disputes with neighbors, real estate closings, preparation of contracts for sale and purchase of real estate, employee non-disclosure agreements, pre-nuptial agreements, contracts, etc.
With over 40 years of legal experience, we can guide you toward resolution of many issues that may arise.
Estate planning encompasses many aspects for ensuring that your assets are distributed upon your death to your loved ones.
It may include such things as a Last Will and Testament, a Testamentary Trust, a Revocable Trust, an Irrevocable Trust, Enhanced Life Estate Deeds, or such other vehicles for holding your assets in such a manner that they transfer according to your wishes.
After consulting with you regarding your assets and how you wish to have them distributed, we can assist you in putting a plan in place to ensure your wishes are carried out.
Probate is a legal process through which the assets of a deceased person are collected and inventoried, distributed to pay creditors' claims against the estate, and any remaining assets are distributed to the heirs or beneficiaries.
The Court determines the validity of the will and ensures that the estate is properly administered.
When a person dies, their original Last Will and Testament must be delivered to the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court within 10 days of receiving information that the person is deceased.
A dispute with a neighbor regarding the new fence they are installing that encroaches on your property, an issue with your landlord, an issue regarding the roofer who never finished the job, or ensuring that your contractor fully pays all sub-contractors before you make your final payment - these are all matters that can benefit from the advice of counsel.
At Hunter & Marchman, P.A. we want to protect you and your property from liens of creditors and attempt to negotiate an agreeable settlement with your neighbor.
