Langer, Grogan & Diver P.C. is a Philadelphia-based law firm that focuses on complex litigation, particularly antitrust and consumer protection matters.
The firm was founded as boutique litigation firm that would divide its time between major commercial matters, particularly on behalf of small business, and law in the public interest, with its most recent emphasis in the area of consumer protection.
Its antitrust work has received the American Antitrust Institute's award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice and its work in the public interest has been frequently recognized, most recently by the Philadelphia Bar Association's, William V. Brennan Award for pro bono work.
Howard Langer, a founding partner of the firm, has specialized in complex commercial litigation, particularly antitrust law, since graduating the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1977.
He was lead counsel in In re Linerboard Antitrust Litigation, which resulted in what was then the largest antitrust recovery ever in the Third Circuit.
He was lead counsel in two class actions that recovered over $150 million and $37.5 million respectively, the full sums wrongfully taken from the victims' accounts of telemarketing frauds.
John Grogan and Howard Langer founded the firm in 2004.
Since that time, John has focused his practice on antitrust, consumer rights and constitutional matters.
In the antitrust area, John has represented clients in large matters involving the intersection of antitrust law and intellectual property especially in the pharmaceutical context.
John served with others in the firm as antitrust counsel for a large generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in a series of high profile antitrust matters.
John graduated, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1993, where he was the Kramer Public Interest Scholar.
Ned Diver is a partner and has worked at the firm since 2005.
He focuses on consumer and antitrust law, as well as civil rights.
He is lead counsel in major challenges on behalf of consumers to the broadcasting practices of Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League.
These cases resulted in settlements in 2015 and 2016 providing hundreds of millions of dollars in savings to consumers as well as important changes to sports broadcasting markets.
He received the award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice from the American Antitrust Institute for that work and has received numerous other awards for other matters.
Bob Silver has more than 30 years experience in representing generic pharmaceutical companies in developing generic products, particularly in complex suits involving paragraph IV challenges under the Hatch-Waxman Act regarding Abbreviated New Drug Applications.
In his prior firm, Bob was Chairperson of the Litigation and ANDA Litigation divisions.
Bob assists clients in all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain, from API manufacturers, to distributors to manufacturers, in designing and patenting products and developing strategies to bring generic products and new products to the marketplace.
