New York Business law is crucial to know because it is a branch of law that examines topics that impact the operation of any business in this state.
Inadvertently, every business has to deal with business law issues at some point: starting, selling, buying a small business, managing and dealing with employees, dealing with contracts, among others.
There are agencies at the state and federal level which administer these laws which aim to protect fair business practices and due process rights for aggrieved workers and others.
Civil litigation usually involves disputes of private law between individuals, businesses or non-profit organizations, but may also entail public law.
For the most part there are three basic steps to a civil litigation suit.
First, the plaintiff will file a written complaint.
Next, in order to make any kind of plea, the defendant will respond with a written "answer" to the complaint.
Finally, the suit enters its "discovery" process in which both parties are exposed to all the facts regarding the suit such as witness questionings, exchange of documents, interrogations, etc.

HSSS has attorneys that are equipped to represent and defend you in Criminal Courts in various NY counties.
Criminal defense law is different from other forms of law in that rather than involving two private entities, the role of the defendant is usually a person or business and the prosecutor is the federal government.
In these types of suits, the prosecutor initiates the case after the defendant commits an act or omission of an act in violation of a public law, also known as a "crime."
Our attorneys are also well versed in the preparation of separation agreements and divorce negotiations or settlements.
HSSS also has your best interest in mind, and can assist you in protecting your finances with pre and post nuptial agreements.
When spouses are unable to agree on child custody and financial issues, they may find it necessary to resolve those issues in litigation.
The Salant lawyers know how to represent the best interests of a client during a contested divorce from beginning to end.
