Services
If a person is unable to pay his or her bills, then a fresh financial start through a bankruptcy proceeding may be possible.
Federal law protects your right to file for bankruptcy, all cases of which are handled in a federal court.
Once you file bankruptcy, your creditors are immediately prevented from seeking collection of your debts, and upon discharge, your creditors will never again be able to attempt collecting that debt.
Filing bankruptcy is never an easy decision.
Tracy Strom understands the struggles and hesitation involved with making this decision and can provide you with the counseling and advice you need to make the right decision for your specific situation.
If your debt has become so significant that you are unable to pay your normal living expenses, then you should consider filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.
When filing Chapter 7, you are allowed to assume secured debts, like your home or car, that are current and that you have the ability to pay.
You will also be able to keep other assets after filing bankruptcy.
Once you have filed, you will receive your discharge in about 3 to 4 months.
Call a bankruptcy attorney at Tracy O. Strom to begin working on your new beginning with Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, otherwise known as Reorganization Bankruptcy, is similar in nature to debt consolidation.
This is ideal for people who have the ability to pay all or some of their debt over a 3 to 5 year period.
Chapter 13 is a great way to save your home if you have mortgage arrears.
After your repayment period is over, you will receive a discharge and can begin your financial life from scratch again.
Your monthly payments will be determined based on the extra income you have after your normal monthly expenses are paid.
Elder Law is the branch of law that deals with the legal needs and issues that are specific to people in their later years of life.
Elder Law attorneys help protect the individual's interests and assets, while also making the necessary arrangements for future incapacity issues, respecting the wishes of the client and ensuring the client's lifestyle remains intact.
If someone, due to age or disability, is incapable of making sound decisions for him or herself, then a judge may authorize another person guardianship to make these decisions for the person in need.
Tracy O. Strom can assist you through your Guardianship care in Destin, FL and the surrounding areas.
Emergency Temporary Guardianship: this type of guardianship is granted to allow a guardian to handle a person's medical and financial needs on a temporary basis, usually up to 90 days.
Plenary (Total) Guardianship: this type of guardianship gives a person full guardianship over all of another person's finances and health care decisions.
