The Michigan Attorney Discipline Board is the adjudicative arm of the Michigan Supreme Court for discharge of its exclusive constitutional responsibility to supervise and discipline Michigan attorneys.

The ADB appoints hearing panels composed of three volunteer attorneys to conduct the trial-level proceedings under Subchapter 9.100 of the Michigan Court Rules, including cases in which the Attorney Grievance Commission has filed a formal complaint alleging that a member of the State Bar of Michigan has committed professional misconduct or should be transferred to inactive status. The ADB also hears petitions for review of decisions by a hearing panel and performs other duties.

A decision of the ADB may be appealed to the Michigan Supreme Court. Additional questions about the discipline system are answered in our FAQs.
Services
The six lawyer members and three non-lawyer members appointed to the Attorney Discipline Board by the Michigan Supreme Court perform, among other things, the functions of an appellate tribunal after a matter has been adjudicated by a hearing panel.
The Supreme Court shall designate from among the members of the Board a chairperson and a vice-chairperson who shall serve 1-year terms in those offices.
The Supreme Court may reappoint these officers for additional terms and may remove an officer prior to the expiration of a term.
The material in the ADB Document Database is retrieved through Coveo, a program which uses flexible search commands.
Searches may be for a single word appearing in the notice or opinion.
Just type the word then hit "Search."
To search using multiple words, phrases, wildcarded words, or words in proximity to other words, use the search operators (see below).
After a search is typed and submitted, the system searches its thesaurus for the terms used.
Use quotation marks (" ") around your terms to search for phrases.
