Legal representation at Chavarro Law Firm, LLC is about much more than completing the necessary paperwork to resolve immigration matters.
The immigration process is confusing and in some situations, may take years to resolve.
Our practice is focused on taking our clients step by step through the process and keeping them informed on their options and status of their particular case.
We strive to keep or bring families together while minimizing the stress and uncertainty that the immigration process involves.
Current U.S. Immigration law allows U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents(LPR) to petition for certain qualified relatives to come and live permanently in the United States.
Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens [Spouse, unmarried child under the age of 21, and parents (if the U.S. citizen is over the age of 21)] have special immigration priority and do not have to wait in line for a visa number to become available for them to immigrate because there are an unlimited number of visas for their particular categories.
The decision to apply for citizenship is a very important one.
As a permanent resident, you have most of the rights of U.S. citizens.
However citizenship offers new rights and privileges, and also equally important responsibilities.
By applying, you are demonstrating your commitment to this country and our form of government.
Below you will find several rights and responsibilities that all citizens should exercise and respect.
Only some are legally required of every citizen, but all are important to ensuring that the United States of America remains a free and prosperous nation.
If you are seeking an immigrant visa, adjustment of status, certain nonimmigrant statuses, or certain other immigration benefits, and you are inadmissible to the United States you must file this application to seek a waiver of certain grounds of inadmissibility.
There are several reasons why you may be determined to be "inadmissible" to the United States.
The Grounds of inadmissibility that may be applied against you by U.S. immigration authorities and that can potentially be waived include, Health Related grounds, Criminal grounds, Fraud or Misrepresentation charges/violations, Unlawful Presence in the United States, a Prior Removal/Deportation order, and others.
Deferred action is based on prosecutorial discretion to defer removal action against a foreign national for a certain period of time.
However it does not provide lawful status.
This program (DACA) allows certain people who came to the United States as children and meet other requirements to request consideration of deferred action, which if approved is valid for a period of two years, and can be renewed.
If approved the applicant receives work authorization for two years.
A foreign country may be designated for TPS by the Secretary of Homeland Security due to the conditions in the country that temporarily prevent its nationals from returning safely, or if the country is unable to handle the return of its nationals adequately.
