Injuries are never easy.
If you have been injured because of the negligence or mistake of another individual, that injury can become even more complicated to deal with.
Between costly medical bills, time away from work and the anxiety and stress that comes with dealing with an injury, recovery is a difficult time for anyone.
Personal injury settlements are designed to help you get back on your feet after you've been hurt at the fault of another individual.
But if you want to receive compensation that will cover your injury expenses, you need to understand the complexity of personal injury compensation.
The American Bar Association defines expungement as, the process by which a record of criminal conviction is destroyed or sealed from state or federal record.
An expungement order directs the court to treat the criminal conviction as if it had never occurred.
For a misdemeanor or Class D felonies reduced to a misdemeanor, you may petition the court for an expungement five years after conviction.
For most non-violent felonies the waiting period is eight years.
For more serious felonies, the waiting period is ten years and the consent of the prosecuting attorney is required.
Divorce is not easy and there are many moving parts to consider.
A change in circumstances can work a hardship on either partner.
I have been involved in family law for over thirty years and can give you the compassion and legal counsel in order to help you through this trying time.
Please give me a call and schedule an appointment so we can go over your specific situation and legal avenues available.
Mediation is negotiations that are facilitated by a third party.
The third party facilitator helps come up with solutions and potential compromises that can help parties resolve their differences before trial.
Some of our cases have resulted in published decisions which other courts, treatises and commentators often have cited as authority.
Below is partial listing of these cases.
Sonya WINCHELL v. Remco GUY, Ariel Graham and Fort Wayne Area Taco Bell Restaurant Owners Association, d/b/a Taco Bell, Appellee-Defendants.
A Wells County judge originally ruled against Sonya Winchell, but the appellate panel found the restaurant owed her a duty to ensure her safety and a jury should decide whether Taco Bell met that obligation.
