The Iowa County Attorneys Association is a nonprofit corporation whose primary purposes are to encourage and maintain close coordination among county attorneys and to promote the uniform and efficient administration of the criminal justice system in our state through cooperation with law enforcement agencies, monitoring of legislation and the provision of continuing legal education for prosecutors.
Services
Prosecute simple misdemeanor cases and other court duties as assigned.
Completes pretrial preparation by charging decisions, reviewing police reports, witness/victim interaction, pretrial hearings, and legal research.
Participates in trial work by negotiating case dispositions, meeting with judges, attorneys, officers, and witnesses, and trying bench and jury trials.
Completes post-trial work by sentencing, restitution hearings, probation review hearings, and contempt hearings for non-compliance with court orders.
