The County Attorneys' Association of the State of New York is comprised of County Attorneys from throughout NYS. Member Counties are NYS Counties who have paid their dues to the Association for the current calendar year. All lawyers in offices of member counties are eligible for member benefits, programs, and materials, including access to the Members Only area of the Web site.

Services
In 1950, the New York State Legislature added Article 11 to the County Law of the State of New York.
Article 11 outlines the term, duties, and responsibilities of both a County Attorney and an Assistant or Deputy County Attorney.
Article 11, § 501 of the County Law outlines the role of a County Attorney in New York State.
The statute states that "the county attorney shall be the legal advisor to the board of supervisors and every officer whose funds are paid from county funds in all matters involving a civil nature".
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of the County Attorneys' Association of the State of New York (CAASNY).
I am honored to serve as President of this esteemed organization and I look forward to yet another year of promoting the legal profession, as well as facilitating the development of relationships and the ability to collaborate between and amongst County Attorneys throughout the State of New York.
Since its creation in 1981, CAASNY has strived to serve the interests of County Attorneys in all 62 counties of the State of New York, as well as the interests of the New York City Corporation Counsel.
